Frank Fleming (1940–2018) was born in Bear Creek, Alabama and worked in Birmingham for most of his career. He is best known for fanciful bronze and porcelain sculptures that blend lifelike animals and plants with imagined figures.
His public work includes The Storyteller fountain in Five Points South, Birmingham, and The Magic Hoop (1988) at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. Large-scale Fleming bronzes rarely come to auction, and collectors across the South follow them closely.
Fleming at Bryant
Bryant Estate Sales has offered Frank Fleming before. Our 2025 auction The Collector’s Eye: Frank Fleming & Fine Art brought his bronzes to bidders nationwide. If you own a Fleming piece and are thinking of selling, we would be glad to talk.
These lots are offered in Birmingham Modern: Dunbar to Diamonds (Sunday, November 15). Bidding is online at LiveAuctioneers, with pickup in Leeds, Alabama or shipping.
